With a final glance at the -literal- fuming horde, he set off after the speeding runner. He doubted they would be pursued; these creatures were most likely defending their home and wouldn't give chase beyond ensuring that the two of them had well and truly left the premises.
He smirked to himself as the smaller runner was putting on quite the show of speed. *'Let him run'*, he thought. The Frost Devil had nothing to prove. He followed at a fast but maintainable pace, letting his nose guide him to Somos and the exit.
“Keep running your mouth. See if that’ll help you keep up!” It was the only warning Somos gave before taking off toward the tunnel Frosty just came from. The adrenaline still pumping through his veins helped him ignore his aching body. He stretched his legs as far as they would go and focus on the wind rushing past him. He didn’t bother checking if Frosty followed him. The runner would try to overtake him. Let him try.
They were getting too close for comfort, but he didn't think it wise to use his powers now. However, he still had enough stamina to leave this wretched place. He looked down at Somos; the smaller runner had, once again, managed to break the spell on his own. Maybe there *was* something to this one, after all. In the meantime, "Of course I do; it's you you should be worried about. I'm not the one who looks like they've just ran a marathon."
Turning around, he spotted Troall and her misfits scurrying away while The Brutes were focused on the pair of runners. They wouldn't even *be* here if it wasn't for her, yet she was pretty happy to let them take the blame for this whole debacle. "Don't think we'll forget about this, *traitor*!" he yelled over the chorus of shouts from the angry mob.
Somos blinked in shock when Frosty dodged his blow. Now that the was runner conscious, Somos felt strange. His heart hammered, claws extended, muscles would up tight, ready pounce, but here was nothing to direct his energy at.
“You two surface dwellers are not welcome here!” A haedian burst forth from the angry crowd Somos was only just beginning to take notice of. Other haedians began to voice their opinions of them. A few objects were tossed in their direction.
“I hope you got a little left in you to run.” Somos crouched, readying himself for whatever might happen next.
Their consciousness was shrinking with every hit that felled one of their own. An Untouched was tearing through their ranks, their mind fighting them tooth and nail. Such vehemence left them puzzled. How was it doing this? Their concentration wavered as they pondered this unusual occurrence. It had happened once before, hadn't it?
The slight change in the coils of power keeping his mind entranced caused a swell that he rode as one would a wave, surging to the forefront in time to hear Somos yell profanities in his face. "Got quite a mouth on you, Rat," he gasped, dodging the hit flying his way.
It had happened so often at this point that he was no longer confused to find himself in a completely different place than where he was mere seconds ago. What *was* surprising, however, were the masses of strangers crowded around him. The ones he'd caught this time were groggily waking up and didn't seem too pleased about their current situation. As a matter of fact, not a singular person around him seemed to be having a good time.
