Emmeline's father was the fifth child of a very minor lordling and not expected to inherit anything. Thus, Emmeline grew up just a little bit wild and unrulily. She was always running about the countryside with her various groups of friends, none of whom were fellow nobles. At the time she was untitled nobility and so considered only barely noble herself. As an adult she came by refinement and poise all on her own and pursued education in the cities, again at her own discretion. She eventually set herself up as a courtesan and quickly became the preeminent courtesan in her kingdom, while doing a bit of unofficial spying and information dealing on the side.
When her father unexpectedly inherited she accepted the title as his heir but did not leave her personal line of work. The additional income from the family estates allowed her to pursue some hobbies that she had set aside before. She is will known for keeping one of the best hunting kennels and aviaries in Roenden. She still has a bit of a rough and wild side to her so, when normal hunts aren't enough to relieve the city's tedium she frequently joins her best friends Pelham 9579 and Gideon 15031 on their bounty hunts.
She and Pelham have had an on a again off again romantic relationship for years but even when that relationship is "off again" they have always been very close friends.
