Personality: Zaile is a researcher, a specialist on what makes each person unique. Their strength, their weaknesses, their genetic makeup that what makes them, them. Why they have a different coat colour to a sibling. Why one is quiet and the other more outgoing are all questions he asks and is asked.
His interest mostly springs from why he can see things others cannot. Not even his sister--half-sister as his step father was not slow in pointing out when annoyed--can see the coloured aura that is tied with each person. Unique to each person, but with enough similarities that he can tell personality and strength from it alone. Denial of his ability lead to him seeking questions. Why?
Studying hard and attracting the wrong attention to his research Zaile made choices that while he regrets now, understands that nothing could change going back and doing over. He will bear the scars of the flames of jealousy for the rest of his life.
What he doesn't know, and his estranged mother found out years later was that the vayron she had a short fling with, was royalty. Zaile was his first child. It might catch up to him someday.
