As a cub, Fern lived a fairly happy life with her best friend, Kirik, the pair endulging in various playful activities upon the plains of Thedale. One day, they strayed too far, and their worlds were forever changed. Kirik was captured b human slavers, sacrificing himself so Fern could escape, scaring her heart forever.

Now she lives and works alone, unable to let anyone be closer than an acquaintance, and rarely interacts with full-blooded humans. Her past colors the present to the point she's testy even when it comes to those beings that merely resemble humans. She is still sharp with other Vayron, to the point of driving many away, and maybe even on purpose. She deeply fears letting others close to her and loosing them again..
