DEPTHSTRIDERS - 3
Xayah was feeling rather content and happy when she finished painting. Proud of her work, and greatly enjoying the way she'd been painted by the others too and the creativity they displayed on her hide. There was very little on her that didn't have paint in some way, the runner basically a beacon of bright, glowing colors. Cislunar wasn't quite as covered, his deep blue serving as a much needed pop of dark color against the pale and warm ones used.
As vayrons and haedians alike started to disperse and leave the cave for the night, Xayah decided to join them. There would likely be food of some kind that she was eager to try, even though she didn't have a clue what it could be. Probably something fish based, given the prominence with water for the clan and their ease when navigating through it. However, her attention was drawn to where other haedians were gathered and... making things? Were those clothes?
Interest officially piqued, Xayah redirected her attention to the crafting area to see what was going on. Many of them were also covered in paints too, but it didn't seem connected? Maybe just another facet of events she somehow missed while focusing on painting. Cislunar didn't join her, but simply gave a curious look over at her and the table when she split off from the group that was leaving for the night.
"Welcome! Do you want to make some jewelry? Or maybe try some on instead?" One haedian asked, giving her a friendly smile when he looked up from the glowing coral bracelet he was working on. There were many projects on the moss table and beyond, plenty of finished pieces just waiting to be tried on. There were even clothes of varying intricacies displayed. Some were simple and clearly meant for utility, whereas others were meant for decoration and fun.
"I'm not sure how much more artistry I have in me," Xayah admitted with a small laugh, looking over the finished pieces with open appreciation. Surprise too, when faced with the fact that she was able to try on any of the jewelry and clothes that were displayed. "And I can try on anything here? Are you certain?"
"Yes! Many others are doing the same, and if you decide you'd like to try to make something then just let us know. We can help you with the materials, too. Some of it's tricky to work with on a good day," He told her, giving another smile while he threaded a few pearls onto the necklace in his hands.
That was all the encouragement Xayah needed, the vayron feeling a new buzz of excitement as she got to peruse the textiles and clothes available. The jewelry could come after she figured out what to wear first. While the more function focused clothes had her curiosity, Xayah wanted fashion. Her focus was on looks and looking good at that. So to the surprise of no one, Xayah focused more on the silks and robes, eyes sparkling as she took in all the intricate details. The many bright colors, the sections that were glowing too. It made her wonder if there was glowing dye as well, and if it was hard to make. If it had some form of limitations, or if it retained its glow once applied to whatever fabric or thread that was going to be used.
Picking out what to try on wasn't the hardest part, though. That title would go to trying to get it to fit. It was clear these various textiles and clothes were made with haedians in mind, which was no surprise to her, but it definitely made getting the clothes to fit properly a bit of a challenge. Xayah tried doubling up the fabric with one attempt after she first tried it on, feeling very much like a pup in her mother's wardrobe... again. A strange thing to feel twice in two separate clans.
"Would you like some help? I believe we have a few spare pins I can use to get this on you right," Leah asked, the haedian from the painting session not too surprised to find Xayah at the Coral Crafting area. She herself had a beaded necklace of sorts that she was working on, one that was currently set aside so she could help Xayah.
"If it's not too much trouble." Xayah accepted, offering the robes to Leah so she could help. The haedian grabbed not only the offered clothes, but all of the pins she needed for this new challenge.
Leah helped Xayah get the robes on properly, then went about pinning various sections up and back so she could actually move around. To try out the clothes properly and walk around in them. It was only after she finished with that, that Leah shuffled over to the table to pick up various jewelry pieces that were finished.
"Here, let's get these on you too! They'll compliment what you've already got going on," Leah explained, smiling eagerly as she offered some of the coral jewelry to Xayah. The nod and grin she got in return was enough of a go ahead for Leah to decorate Xayah in whatever the vayron didn't grab to put on herself. The process of dressing someone up was always a ton of fun, especially when they got to look themselves over.
"... This is really nice. Thank you, Leah. I wasn't sure how I was going to get the robes on properly, and the jewelry is... so nice. I've never seen anything like any of this before coming here."
