Proper Planning Techniques - Forgotten 2

After the theft of the food and supplies, Wassail grinned as he followed Troall and the rest of her clan members through their tunnel systems. They weaved and trailed through them back to the Forgottens store rooms to deposit their large haul.

“Thank you, Wassail, for assisting us in this raid. Perhaps, you would enjoy helping us plan the next one, after some rest.” The black and red ruler grinned, helping to take off the packs they lent to the runner

“Of course.” The scarlet and teal runner hummed wearily, lifting his wings and stretching them at the joints that met his back.

“We will inventory the supplies we were able to garner, and go to the main gathering area. We will meet you there.” Troall bowed her head towards the runner in respect before turning to a headian who was next to unload their haul.

Exiting the store room, Wassail hummed as he watched the members of the clan who didn’t join the previous raid mill about the room. He saw young haedians crawling across lifted platforms, chittering in high squeaky sounds to each other. Watching them run and jump from platform to platform, the runner smiled and laughed as they tumbled down a ramp.

“Oh, hello there. Did you help during the last raid?” One of the older members asked while they approached Wassail.

“Oh, hello. I did. Was a kind of spur of the moment thing, but I do understand the necessity for such an action I couldn’t turn it down.” The runner nodded, lowering his head as the other approached.

“We thank you. We may not be liked by other clans any more, but at least we have each other.” The haedian smiled, watching the group of young playing still before turning towards a different tunnel, “Come, we may not have much, but please do eat something. They may start planning again when Troall finishes inventorying the cache.”

“So soon after?” Wassail followed behind, tucking his wings close to his body again.

“An unfortunate thing weust do, but yes. We do not execute it though for a couple of days.” The skinny haedian spoke as they walked, their tail swaying behind them.

Wassail slowed his pace when he noticed the haedian slowed down a bit. Soon they entered a cave where they were giving out bits of food and drinkable water to the clan members who were lined up. The duo went to the back of the line, chuckling softly when a pair of young Haedian’s scrambled in holding a paint can each.

“Looks like a couple of the younglings have started gathering their supplies for the next pranks.” The older one spoke, their smile growing warm at the sight.

“You spoke of the other clans not liking you, is it due to these… pranks?” Wassail asked quietly, tilting his head a bit.

“Partially yes. The other reason is because most of us were cast out of our original clans, though what for are typically lost to time.” They hummed in thought, closing their eyes.

Wassail bowed his head in acknowledgment. He watched as more clan members walked off towards the other end of the cave to sit in small groups. Some had rolled scrolls sitting in the middle of the group, others were sorting out some type of material to make bundles of… something.

“Let us get our food then we can join one of the planning groups to rest and help.” The deep purple and black haedian motioned to the now much smaller line.

The winged runner nodded, padding closer to the front of the line now.

“Hi there, take just one bundle per member for the moment.” The orange and red haedian motioned to the closed packs in front of them.

“Thank you.” Wassail nodded his head as he dipped to pick up a pack in his mouth.

Holding it in his mouth, he waited for the purple and black haedian to grab theirs before walking towards a group who was in the middle of planning.

“I say, we leave these stink bug bundles in their sleep areas in a place up high where they can’t find them right away.” The larger of the group chimed out, their red and black color scheme striking against the gray rocks.

“Yeah definitely, they should also have some of those clicker beetles within the cracks of their main areas, where they can't find them.” A smaller red male grinned out as he pushed a pouch towards the middle.

“How about, put both in both locations. That way, they get shaken up by it.” Wassail chimed in, putting his food bundle at his paws.

The red one looked at them, his blue eyes wide before narrowing in thought. A smirk appeared on his features.

“Oh you're smart, what’s your name?” The red haedian grinned.

“Wassail, and I'm happy to help.” The scarlet and teal runner smirked back.
