The Forgotten Part 1
Gydeon's chest heaved as he struggled to gulp in the passing air- he wasn't sure how the mess he was in began...
He reflects upon the choices that led to this current predicament-Perhaps it was when he listened to a friend's request to deliver something to the city Nepte and his longing to see more of the world beyond the harsh desert of his homeland as many tend to do once they come of age. Hearing angry voices getting closer and his accomplices , a small dark blue haedian named Khaili and a larger mottled green and white one named Dex, jeer at him "Looks like the surface dweller can't keep up! hahaha, you gotta do better than this to match the Forgotten!" Gritting his teeth, Gydeon pushes himself harder, struggling to pull the over laiden cart of pilfered goods-- the current cause of his panicked flight.
"You try pulling this thing and see how fast you go!" Gydeon snarls as he takes a sharp right down a side passage, cart rattling and struggling not to tip over onto its edge and spill out the precious cargo- a collection of rare gems, glittering metals, shimmering bolts of fabric, along with a variety of preserved fruits and meats. Despite his best efforts Khaili and Dex's snickering continues to grow further away in the gloom. Panting and struggling to keep up Gydeon calls out "Guys! Don't leave me behind! Are you serious!"
Maybe it was when he decided to see what the commotion was and join in on The Elders quest to solve the cause of strange events occurring across the continent, believing it to be a challenging but overall simple adventure to find the cause of the intriguing and mysterious occurrences. Perhaps it was the moment when the ground opened and swallowed him up and led him to discover the caverns, encountering Cailu before he was hopelessly lost forever within the underground.
Despite his best efforts his accomplices disappear into the darkness ahead. Harness chaffing and himself drenched in sweat Gydeon curses where his curiosity landed him as well as bemoaning the fact that while his yellow pelt blended in with the sandy dunes of thedale perfectly it stuck out like a sore thumb in the caverns of Vitalus, overtaken by hues of blue and green and purple, making it difficult to find a good place to hide as no matter where he looked he would be easily spotted. Almost quite literally stuck between a rock and a hard place as the cave narrowed ahead, causing his cart to drag against the walls and creating a terrible echoing screech to ring out. pinning his ears back he renewed his efforts to escape. Turning blindly into one tunnel after another attempting to confuse and throw off his pursuers.
In all honesty it was probably the minute when Gydeon split up from the Haedian for a short time to see firsthand if his tales were accurate. He shakes his head as rocks skitter across the floor and cause his cart to shake violently. Gydeon counts his lucky stars as the tunnel begins to widen back up into a large cavern before he was well and truly stuck. Even better the sounds of his pursuers quiet down with the distance he covered. Slowing to a trot and trying to catch his breath Gydeon looks around and takes in the cave, covered in luminescent mosses and glittering crystals, and spots several tunnels plus a large and familiar figure that was just who he was thinking of "Cailu!!!"
Seemingly surprised the haedian turns around and perks up when he realizes it's Gydeon "Hello once again my friend, it's an unexpected joy to have our paths cross once again this soon." The other takes in Gydeons frazzled state with some amusement and chuckles, continuing while making a gesture at the Vay with a clawed hand "I see in the short time we parted ways you got yourself into some mischief. Have you perhaps made some headway in befriending and winning over The Forgotten?" Gydeon excitedly nods then looks down sheepishly. "Do you uh,,,,, perhaps know the way back towards their camp? I got separated while escaping with the loot...."
Cailu hums for a moment before pointing out a tunnel to the center left of them "I saw a certain pair run down this way laughing about 'hopeless surface dwellers' perhaps their camp is back down that way. Shall I accompany you?" Gydeon pauses for a moment and agrees "Yeah it would be awesome to go traveling with you once again- oh! wait- do you think Troall will like all this stuff? I grabbed some preserved foods but it's mostly glittery fun stuff, I'm worried it's not going to be useful to them." Gydeon sadly ducks his head, ears pinned back, as he realizes the possibility his trouble was all for nothing, but Cailu shrugs and bumps against him "The Forgotten are a clever and resourceful bunch, even if its not seemingly useful as of the moment the chances are they'll have a use that neither of us would have ever thought of. They don't tend to let anything go to waste since they have it the hardest amongst the clans and can't afford to waste even dregs. The very least they are a vindictive bunch once wronged so your act of thievery itself should impress them enough. Anyways we have dawdled enough, let us go- lest you want your pursuers to catch back up." Realizing that fact Gydeon jumps and starts to rush past Cailu, cold sweat running down his back at the thought, and the pair starts upon the next leg of their journey
