Tranquil Prompt 3
"This has been such a pleasant experience." said Maple, positively beaming with Serenity, she had received lessons from Emjik, a Haedian from the Tranquil clan on how to channel her magic into the crystals of Vitalus to heal. And whilst she hadn't been able to manipulate the crystals as Emjik had been able to they had shifted ever so slightly, at least indicating to Maple that with sufficient training and meditation, she'd be able to learn this arcane skill and make it her own. The thought that it being tied to Vitalus crystals and there not being any of those in Warrenfall- her home hadn't occured to her yet.
As the trio of friends was chatting, with katholes now also starting to relax ever-so-slowly thanks to the pleasant atmosphere within the clan talk had come up about the clan leader Pyrri, Emjik had listened intently to the three, a gentle smile tugging at the corners of their mouth.
"Pyrri is currently in their daily meditation session. You lot have been very polite and mindful so far however so I see no problem with taking you all to them." offered their Haedian friend, an offer none of the three could refuse, even if Katholes who was hard to please wished to carry on with their journey to a different clan as he felt alienated by how different the Tranquil clans way of life was compared to how they grew up.
"That would be very kind of you Emjik." said Varos, nailing the bird chirp-esque sound at the end of the Haedians name for the first time, due to which the chaser proudly puffed out their chest, feeling accomplished at that feat.
"it would be my pleasure." said Emjik, nodding at Varos. The three friends allowed the Haedian to start leading the way as whilst they had gotten a general lay of the land from following Emjik on their tour around the Tranquil clans territory before, the surroundings were still new to them, making them feel uncertain about their surroundings.
Pyrris domain was tranquility distilled down into an essence, bonsai trees, growing to take on intricate swirling patterns, some bound with wire to achieve this very specific look, as well as pools with lilypads in them that gently trickled down the stone pathway leading to a platform from which the water sprung, it was circular with a white sheet hanging over it, softening the glow of the luminescent crystals growing from the ceiling. In the center of the circular platform sat Pyrri, still, focused on their breathing, eyes closed a gentle smile on their face.
Emjik had instructed the group before to join their leaders meditation session as they could talk through meditation with one another- how this worked none of the three friends could even wager a more concrete guess beyond magic, but Varos and Maple seemed so enthralled by the idea that Katholes had little grounds to object. Besides, Katholes had wanted to ask this Haedian leader something and if they could do it without actually needing to say it out loud, even better.
In their mind- the sooner they could finish with the tranquil clan the sooner they could head to others clans so they were happy to do anything if it meant that their friends would be alright with heading on to different clans. The puller sat down close to Pyrri, trying their best to be quiet, their claws scraping on stone as they approached and got comfortable not doing them any service, Katholes would shift from position to position for some time still, feeling restless at their core which prevented them from truly try slipping into a meditative state as easily as the others could.
Varos layed down, legs stretched out away from them, laying flat on their belly on the ground. It wasn't a typical meditation position but if it worked for the chaser then who was to object?
Maple had shimmied closer onto the platform and observed Pyrri for a moment, their fluffy coat and intricate pink markings making them stand out.
They folded their wings tightly against their body, crouching down, trying in vain to take up a lot of space as she had to account for her long tail and big wings.
The three friends closed their eyes and focused on their breathing, their attempts to meditate only intermittently interrupted by their red pelted puller friend readjusting their position. Yet soon silence fell over the room once again, which only accentuated the sounds the water spring made, as well as their collective breathing. If they listened beyond that they could also hear their own heartbeat, their blood rushing through their ears and a joint quietly creaking as its position was adjusted. Soon they each found their bodies feeling lightweight and their minds cleared before they all saw Pyrri before them in their minds eye, yet none of the friends saw each other or heard their friends talk as they did in their minds eye.
"Welcome travellers." said Pyrri, their voice sounding warm and comforting.
"What brings you to my abode?" asked the haedian, sitting down. They would receive different responses from the three friends- Maple wanted to learn more of the Tranquil clans ways, asking Pyrri for pointers to help her learn channel her magic through the crystals to help mend wounds, Varos simply wanted to get to know more about the Tranquils cuisine and offered to cook something for Pyrri, but Katholes had a truly unique question for Pyrri.
"I've seen your clans ways and what you all believe in." started the redcoated puller, their tone sounding slightly bitter even if they didnt intend for it to be.
"Why do you choose to maintain peace in such a chaotic world? A world that thrives off of violence and greed? You must surely know that you and your clan members will get hurt one day by holding tightly onto these principles?" Katholes expression was puzzled, it was clear this wasn't so much meant as criticism but rather the Puller being entirely confused about how such a way of life could be feasible.
Pyrri chuckled in response, Katholes response feeling like something a pup in their clan might ask during their studies at one point in their upbringing.
"The answer is simple- if it isnt us then who would step up to the task? In a world of uncertainty and violence, stability and reliance is needed. If we can be that safe haven for those struggling then that is all we can ask for." their smile faded slightly as they went into getting hurt for their way of life.
"That is certainly a possibility yes, however patience is required to show those that resort to violence that their actions are wrong. The moment that we use violence ourselves we will have broken that tenant, making us the same than that which we try to correct in this world. After all if everyone were a pacifist there would truly be no need for fighting." concluded the Haedian, intently observing Katholes, who did the same in turn.
"I see thank you-" spoke the puller, satisfied with the response for now even if they still found the Tranquils clans ways hard to imagine working outside of their habitat down in the depth of Vitalus, they would need to digest and introspect about Pyrris view on the principles they abided by. The conversations between Maple, Varos and Pyrri were lightweight but no less enlightening.
