Reos World Fair - Legends are true
“Let’s go fishing for the magical fish” he said, “It will be fun” he said. But the truth was that Senku was tired of that idiot. As a tyrian he was sure there was someone else like him in the skies of Warrenfall and the Reos World Far seemed the perfect occasion to make some friends.
When he met Ikki, the orange tobiano tyrian, he thought he was, how could he say… different. But it was clear at a certain point that they weren’t compatible at all.
Anyway, he decided to follow him just because there was a rumor about a magical fountain in the fair and Senku was more than strongly decided to catch it.
“Don’t be so grumpy, my friend, is right there!” said Ikki, pointing in front of himself.
The way full of stalls, covered in lights was beautiful and some shimmering fireflies were flying around. The atmosphere was magical that early night.
That was the only good news, in Senku’s opinion. He sighed, nodding to his new friend, walking next to him until they reached a small square with a beautiful fountain in the center.
White marmoreal figures were sculpted all over the fountain, drawing elegant figures of vayrons and tyrians, an add on from when the continent of Vitalus opened to the external world.
“Look there!” said Ikki, smiling.
He was a soft and slightly naive boy who wanted to open a personal shop but at the moment he had just started to travel around with his merchandise. He was basically an enthusiastic trader at the beginning of his career.
“It seems there’s something in the water” murmured Senku.
With his size for him it would have been easy to catch the fish, or at least that was what he thought. But the truth was that it was more difficult than expected and he discovered it when he tried to put a paw in the water.
It disappeared as if that mirror of water was magical as the voices said.
“Woah, that’s cool” commented Ikki.
He tried to put a paw in the water as well and he noticed that the limb disappeared but he understood something unexpected. He merged the arm more and as suspected he didn’t touch the base of the fountain.
“It seems deeper than we think” he noticed.
“Maybe we could enter entirely inside…” whispered Senku.
“What?”
“Nothing”
Senku observed the situation for some minutes and then he was fast in deciding. He walked slowly behind Ikki’s back while he was still focused on the fish of the fountain and he pushed him in the water.
Ikki lost his balance and finished in the fountain with the upper part of his body while Senku did his best to be sure he wasn’t drowning. But instead of returning to the surface, the orange and white tyrian stayed inside the water for some reason.
What he saw left him speechless and he had to focus multiple times before realizing what was happening: colorful life-sized buildings were built along a golden street and there were some stalls very similar to those of the festival. Fish of every size and shape were walking with the back fins as if they were humans and some seemed a bit sad even if that was a wonderful environment.
“If only we were good enough…” murmured one.
“I’m so sorry for my actions…” said another one.
Meanwhile Senku looked at the remaining part of Ikki’s body. He wondered what the hell was going on, considering some bubbles were reaching the surface, so he tried to call him.
“Hey, Ikki, are you okay?”
Nobody replied. Luckily it seemed Ikki could breathe underwater and he really wanted to enter completely in the fountain to discover more, but it would have been dangerous because he didn’t know how to exit, once entered.
And even if it seemed a really beautiful world, he didn’t want to be the only tyrian among the fish.
Then he heard something coming from the above and he decided to go back. Once sure about his decision, he resurfaced from the water and for a moment he frightened Senku.
“What the hell were you doing there?!” shouted the cloud tyrian.
Ikki smiled.
“You wouldn’t believe me: there’s an entire world there! Fish everywhere and a festival, and colorful buildings on both sides of a golden, shimmering street, and…” he continued to talk but Senku lost his focus and stopped to pay attention.
That was an absurd story, obviously. The only thing he understood was “fish” and since it seemed they didn’t have the opportunity to catch at least one, the rest was useless.
“Well, well, I think you need some rest” he said, sighing.
He put an arm around Ikki’s shoulder, who seemed surprised.
“I’m telling you the truth!” he said, nodding.
“I believe you but I think we need to relax anyway…”
The two walked together around for a while and they didn’t notice the magic that was impregnating the air. In some random points of the fair, in fact, some people were spawning, completely soaked.
“I’m human again!” said one, starting to cry for his own comeback.
Legends said people who cheated in the fair were transformed in fish and, sometimes, legends were true.
