Revere and the Keepers Part 1

Grumbling to herself Revere stretches
Her aching body co.plainimg as joints crackle and pop with the movement. "I'm getting to old for this shit, I should just start sending the kid out to do this kind of thing" she mutters while massaging her sore muscles and  "Those Brutes really did a number on me- although the other clans I met were also a bit much. How youngsters have this much energy I'll never know...." Looking over to her guide, a young and excitable Haedian she met earlier on- some kind of scholar who traveled up from deeper within the twisting caverns, who set out on an exploration once words of outsiders entering the caverns spread. How she attracts this type of youngster Revere doesn't know but while their youthful attitude is refreshing she can't help but to bemoan the fact she's not that young anymore, She calls out "Alright! Let's rest up around here for tonight so we're refreshed when wego to meet your folks. I need to take stock of my supplies and pick out what item is best to offer your leader" The youngster perks up and bounces in place, readily agreeing,  pulling them aside to what seems to be a common traveler waystop- if the obvious wear and the still warm embers of fires previous adventurers must have left are to go

Setting up camp goes by quickly, one benefit of not having many of the supplies she brought from home left Revere supposes, apart from the trinkets and food traded for on her journey, she only has a scant few collection left. She rifles through them as she keeps the advice she received from another pair of travelers she's encountered a few times before hand "The Keepers are not dissimilar yo your people's librarians and historians, who's thirst for more knowledge is the driving force behind them. Knowledge would be best thing to share with them, as they value nothing the same way they value that" Cailus voice echos in her ears and she decides to sort through the few reams of paper and books she brought on the journey, thanking the foresight of her plucky assistant Zhiyas forsight  as she pulls out an encyclopedia on the continents of the surface world as well as a bestiary which covers the board strokes of both dangerous and helpful creatures one would possibly find on a long journey away from home. Setting those two times aside and repacking all but some wood, dried food, spices, and a dinged up cooking pot Revere starts to prepare for them a quick campfire meal. Conjuring some water she adds her dried vegetables and meats first stirring and tasting as she adds from her collection of traveling spices before calling out to her companion and splitting out the portions between the two of them. They eat in comfortable silence before the Haedian settles in for the night, Revere staying up just bit later to put notes into her log of her travels

Rev frowns to herself and thinks on where to best start her entry before giving up and just going with her current thoughts and woes 'It's been a long journey, fortunately the end is in sight, only a scant few clans left to visit before I can finally head home and end this acursed trek. I really should have made Zhi come down here and do all this but they wanted to have more practice manning the store themselves and that I 'Deserved a nice vacation!' Bah the folly of the young to think this counts as a vacation, although in some regards it has been quite entertaining I suppose. And I didn't manage to open up my shop in the shining city for sitting on the sidelines after all, most my success thankful to going out and discovering for myself important resources. Anyways the next leg of my trip continues....." she finishes writing the page before  before continuing on,a more professional documentation and tale of how the farewell with the water dwellers went. How she parted a reluctantly fond farewell with Ornaax and fills out several pages in depth on their unique culture and home before closing the pages and drifting to a restful sleep.

Without the daylight cycle it's hard to tell however much time has passed but fortunately for Revere her companion is practiced in how time passes in the caverns, waking her up several hours later. With a last minute check to the rest of her goods and a quick pack up of the campsite the pair is ready to set off for their next goal.

Before long the pair arrive at the outskirts of the Keepes territory, Revere's younger companion excited and eager to show off for their leader. After greeting a few others on the way yhey arrive at their endpoint- the Chronicle Hall, off into the far distamce. softly glowing crystals giving the great hall an elegant yet imposing  ethereal look.

A dark green Headian with smokey golden markings and piercing eyes steps forward and Revere give a respectful down as her companion introduces her "Hello, as stated my name ir Revere, I'm a merchant from the surface interested in learning and compiling a manuscript on the navigation of the labyrinthine caverns, information on the various clans to share with future adventures who undertake the complex journey like i have, and to also tell my tale of exploring down here. In exchange for letting me stay and learn from you for a brief time I bring a gift I quite hope you would find fitting- Knowledge and information on the surface." Revere hands over the first book, the encyclopedia, to the other.

After a beat of silent consideration the other nods and accepts the book "I greet you surface dweller and agree to allow you respite amongst us in thanks of knowledge sjared. My name is Khaldor and I am the Curator of the Keepers knowledge, come I'm quite curious to hear of the surface. There are few tales of the above world and even fewer of any historical merit good tales and folklore they be" he gestures to the pair and leads them onward to another cavern. Curious Revre takes a step to follow.
