[TRANQUIL] Prompt 2

Pyrri approached the group after they had finished their first task. As positive as ever, Pyrri thanked them for their hard work. Alowyn smiled at the compliment while Garmr and Herja rolled their eyes because they knew their performance wasn’t up to par. The leader of the Tranquil Clan led them towards their next task.

“Perhaps,” Pyrri started, “You’d feel more comfortable dealing with conflict.”

Alowyn wanted to groan as Garmr and Herja perked up at the idea of handling a conflict.

“How do you want us to handle this disagreement?” Herja asked.

Pyrri looked between the two vayrons before she said, “Well, ideally, peacefully. However, any way to get them to stop and listen will work.”

Garmr and Herja nodded as they thought about what they could do. They both were itching for a little fight, but maybe they could distract both sides of the argument long enough for Pyrri to reason with them. Alowyn watched as her companions schemed, she could see the gears turning in their heads and she feared what might come of it.

The group silently followed Pyrri to another space. During this walk, they were able to take in the plants and tapestries of the clan. Everything about the domain oozed calm and peaceful energy, and Alowyn loved it. As they got closer to the conflict Pyrri mentioned, the group could hear shouting and fighting becoming more clear.

“How are we going to handle this?” Alowyn asked when they were within sight of the two groups.

“We could just fight them,” Garmr shrugged.

“We’ll distract them,” Herja said with an eye roll directed at her partner.

“Can we try to talk to them first?” Alowyn insisted weakly.

No one responded to Alowyn’s question because they reached the quarreling groups. It looked like it was a group of Brutes arguing with a group from the Forgotten clan. Pyrri and the group watched them fight back and forth about who was receiving a box of supplies.

“They’re both getting one,” Pyrri said, “But, they aren’t listening.”

“That’s easy to remedy,” Herja said.

“No, wait,” Alowyn exclaimed, “Let me try to talk to them.”

Garmr hissed at Alowyn’s interference, but when Herja relented, he backed off as well. The vayrons watched as their empyrian companion approached the loud haedians. The haedians were speaking so quickly, it was hard to make out what they were saying if Pyrri hadn’t told them what was wrong earlier.

“Excuse me,” Alowyn shouted politely.

There was a brief pause, but before Alowyn could continue the bickering resumed with renewed vigor. Garmr laughed, but Alowyn tried one more time. She shouted with a firmer voice, but at this point, no one was listening.

“Let us handle this,” Herja said while Alowyn walked back towards Pyrri.

“We tried talking to them,” Pyrri sighed, “Might as well try something different.”

With that said Garmr’s body lit on fire while Herja’s fire coiled around her shoulders like a snake. The pair raced in between the group and started to fake a fight. Alowyn grimaced as she watched the two fight each other, from her view and everyone else’s it looked anything but fake. The pair growled at each other and grunted with each impact.

The arguing didn’t end as quickly as they were expecting. It slowed down, making it clear the distraction was working, but the energy of the fighting seemed to spar some of the haedians on to argue with a stronger will. Herja and Garmr’s fight evolved with the new energy from the argument, what started as a fake fight turned into something real. Each of the vayrons was hashing out their frustrations with the other.

The bickering groups of Haedians paused and backed away from the warring vayrons. Pyrri took the chance to quickly remedy the misunderstanding. Each set of haedians left with their individual sets of supplies. Alowyn helped them gather what they needed and waved them away.

“This was an act right?” Pyrri asked when it was only the three left.

“It was supposed to be,” Alowyn murmured.

“Can we stop them?” Pyrri hesitated.

“I can,” Alowyn said with a sigh.

Alowyn reached for the roots she was using earlier and found they were much closer. She hadn’t put two and two together when she saw all the plants in this clan. Though, she was grateful at that moment. Quicker than she had before, she urged the roots out of the earth and wrapped her two companions up. The pair of vayrons heaved as they remained tied up in roots.

“You can let us down,” Herja huffed.

Alowyn waited a moment before she slowly dropped them.

“It worked,” Garmr grumbled, “See nothing to worry about.”

Pyrri and Alowyn shared an uncertain look, but both let it go as the vayrons let their magic fade back into their skins.

THE TRANQUIL CLAN

PROMPT 1 >  OPTION 2

The Tranquil are masters of preventing conflict among clans. Many may use mentalist-like abilities to calm other Haedians out of trouble.

Draw or write your reosean stopping a conflict with their own magic. Maybe they can also use mentalist magic to calm the nerves of the Haedians. If you are an Elementalist maybe you put a wall between them. An Arcanist may prefer to distract them with fancy magic.
