Magic & Weather [The Keepers]

The game of tag that ensued would go on for quite awhile. It would end up leaving the three vayrons exhausted. Having to each take a nap before they would be fed a meal made up of fish. When Nasale, Sitka and Osaka were ready to move on, a Depthstrider member would guide them towards the entrance to the next clan. Their haedian guide muttering quite a bit about how the next clan was no fun and how they didn't want the vayrons to leave.

Though Sitka would assure them, that they'd visit again. After all they made knew friends along this journey, they couldn't just completely ignore them after the fact. No matter how this all would affect the future, they couldn't just pretend that nothing happened down here.

When the three entered the new territory they each would take quick notice how nearly every crystal had symbols carved into them. Not only that but even some walls had engravings. As they trekked further in the scent of books and parchment would fill the air, they took notice of the shelves of crystals, books and scrolls soon after.

All three had to resist the urge to page through all the information, after all that could have come off offensive to this clan. Though these intrusive thoughts would soon be interrupted by green Hardison whose coat seemed to shimmer under the crystals light. Paper and a quill in hand, “Oh! Topsiders! Perfect, this is perfect! Our information about the world above is tainted by bias and hostile opinions… is there anything you each would be willing to share about your world above? It would be quite helpful to know facts from those that live there! Oh by the way my name is Khaldor.”

The three would look at each other, seeming surprised how even the Keeper’s leader just came up to them. Nothing but information being asked of them this far. How interesting indeed. They would softly discuss between them who would go first.

With Khaldor watching in anticipation, Sitka would step forward first. Using his mere sparked magic to help explain as he spoke. “Well, since I was a child I learned about Arcane magic and practices. Arcanists are often able to control inanimate objects, create magical shields, draw energy from living things and can rarely summon lifeless creatures as well. I may not have strong enough magic for any of that yet, but it can be an extremely powerful magic but oftentimes dangerous to the user. But I hope I can learn to get good enough with it to help protect my family.”

As Sitka would explain the information about Arcane magic, Khaldor would scribble down the information given on the paper. When the lighter male seemed finished Khaldor would look up from his paper, “Fascinating! We may have something akin to that down here. Who's next?”

“I guess I am.” Nasal would be the one to speak up, also deciding to use her basic magic to help her explain, “I can tell you some about Elemental magic. Elementalists are generally able to control all the elements to some extent, however many of us have one or two elements that we excel at. For example, I have a natural affinity towards water and lightning, Osaka here is better at Ice than I. Their father whose also an elementalist does great with plant magic. Some suggest the element or elements we are naturally drawn to often depend on our character or in other words represents our soul. Not entirely sure that that's true for everyone though.”

Khaldor would listen to every word, though it was hard to say how much was actually written down word for word. “Interesting! What is ice? Lightning? What is that?”

“Oh! I guess you probably don't get much of either of those here. Lightning is like light that is superheated, more concentrated and thus more dangerous than light. But it can be quite useful when used correctly. And ice is like extremely cold water that becomes hard.” It felt odd trying to explain concepts that were so easily understood by top-siders, but we're completely unknown to this world below.

The green haedian would seem curious about this information, making note of it as well before turning finally onto Osaka, “What would you like to add to our collection of notes?”

“Uh… well. They pretty much covered the magics besides Mentalist. Although I don't know much about them personality.” Osaka would seem to have a harder time thinking of information that was worth sharing. “I guess I could talk about what Vitalus above ground is like? It is a floating island split in two that floats above salt flats. Other smaller floating islands dot the landscape. Much like down here it has crystals, some that glow, others that don’t. Pretty similar animals for the most part though they don't have the luminescent markings. We get weather patterns that I guess you wouldn't down here, like Nasale said before we get lightning, though we get rain, which is water falling from the sky, we get some snow during the winter which is white and fluffy unlike water. Our day and night cycle is a bit more dramatic I'd say, since we get sunlight up there, then during the night we get views of stars and the twin moons.” Osaka would be a bit scattered in his information, though he would do his best given not having a plan coming into the clan.

Khaldor would still be making notes of course, seeming rather interested in these new concepts presented to him by these Vayrons. Though he wouldn't be the only one. Other haedians from the clan would have come over to listen to the three speak. Seeming quite interested in what they were saying. Some haedians even muttered between each other about some of the things that were said. “Interesting… quite interesting.” Khaldor would mutter as he would finish up writing on his parchment for the moment.

Draw or Write your Reosean bringing information of the Topside to the leader of the Crystal Mind. This can be anything from illustratively describing the process of a water cycle, creating a system for transport across Vitalus’s island, or even using a display of magic to explain what you may think the Keepers would like to store into their libraries.
