"So… it's this plant I need, right?" Lockheed asked, the large male looking so lost and conflicted as he tried to differentiate between herbs.

"Um… I'm no-" Ariadne was in the middle of peeking over to see when she was cut ofg, her own concoction in front of her and already mixed. One of the more experienced healers had already assisted her, so she was just about done.

"No, that herb is not meant to be consumed. You'd make the recipient violently ill, on top of whatever physical injuries they are already dealing with."

The rather blunt answer had the pair's attention snapping over to the new voice. A rather colorful runner with a long mane, and intricate gold jewelry draped across her body from literal head to tail was before them. She didn't have the friendliest expression as she regarded them and their novice attempts at helping mix up pastes for the healers.

"What you want are the leaves to your right. They act as a numbing agent."

"... Thanks." Lockheed grumbled, not appreciating the way this new vay had cut Ariadne off.

This clan seemed to have more vays than some of the others they'd seen already, and neither he or Ariadne could blame them. Everything here was so green and… peaceful. It was a really fitting for the injured to be tended to here, what with the lack of stress.

Ariadne chose to ignore the fact that she'd been cut off rather rudely. Once wasn't enough to get a bad opinion of somebody, especially since it may be due to stress. Benefit of the doubt and all of that.

"I'm Ariadne, and this is Lockheed. It's nice to meet you! Are you here to help with the injured as well?" She asked as she finished her paste and set it aside, instead tilting her head at the expensive vay that was now sitting with them.

"I'm Xayah, and yes. We're seeking to better our relations with the haedians, yes? Helping as I go seems logical." Xayah mused, pulling her bag of medical supplies off to empty and sort out. "I was also tasked with helping you two tend to some of the injured that they have. No major injuries, but they still need medical attention."

Lockeed and Ariadne shared a confused look for a moment. They'd not been told any of this yet, but… the haedian thay had been helping them seemed occupied at the moment. So, it tracked. Not only that, but Xayah didn't seem the type to lie or go out of her way to make more work for herself. No… she seemed rather prissy, actually.

"I see. What do you need us to do?"

"Finish mixing your paste until it's smooth, then hand it over like your friend did. I need more bandages as well before we can even think about patching these guys up. If I were more skilled in magic, I would heal them with that. But for now, this will have to do."

Xayah let out a wistful sigh at the thought. Oh, how she wished she'd sparked already. Years of studying when she could, and still…. nothing. Never the matter. Right now, she needed to get these two moving along and working on patching up some of the wounded. As soon as Lockheed finished his paste and passed it over, Xayah situated it in her bag alongside the other vials and pastes she already had. Ariadne brought back a decent amount of bandages too, which was more than enough for her to deem the three of them ready to actually go help out.

"You two should work together on patching someone up. That way you can split the workload." Xayah suggested as she sat down next to a blue haedian with intricate swirls across their flank. That was, unfortunately, marred with various lacerations and injuries. Lockheed and Ariadne were tending to another vayron, one who introduced herself as Maiara.

"We should be able to handle it just fine." Ariadne mused, excited to finally help now. Lockheed wasn't expressing much in either direction, but he was focused on the task that was presented to him

The trio didn't speak much to each other as they worked, but they made plenty of small talk with their patients. Lockheed handled any stitching and the paste, his perfectionist attitude with small details coming through. Ariadne handled the bandaging of wounds as Lockheed proved to have difficulty with getting them the right tightness without being too tight. Meanwhile, Xayah was managing her patient just fine on her own while occasionally answering any questions Lockheed and Ariadne had in between her small talk with the haedian she was working on.

"Are you two feeling confident enough in your skills to continue working on others?" Xayah asked as she packed her bag up to move on to the next reosan that she could help. She would remain with both Lockheed and Ariadne until she was told otherwise by the one who instructed her to help them.

"I'd say so." Ariadne agreed, looking over to Lockheed to get his side of it. He simply nodded in agreement, which was enough for Xayah to lead them to the next person to help.

She actually had a small list of sorts they needed to go through, but this was a good start.
