Tranquil Clan: Sisters 2

With each step, the sisters felt the calm over them fade. Cheiro’s lips twitched into a snarl; Kaimana’s hairs stood up on the back of her neck; and Furor resisted an urge to rack her claws through some of the buildings. They all knew to avoid any destruction they needed to find Pyrri. Thankfully, it wasn’t long before the sister found the haedian.

Pyrri smiled at them and, while she didn’t address it, she saw the posture of all three of them becoming more stiff.

“Maybe you can help us calm a dispute.” Pyrri spoke softly and gestured for the trio to follow her.

The three sisters carefully followed behind her, glancing at each other every so often. None of them were certain being around angry reoseans is what they needed right now, but they remained quiet, trusting the Tranquil leader.

A few more minutes of walking to the other edge of the Tranquil border and suddenly they could hear arguing. There were loud growls and words being spewed so quickly no one could make out what was being said. Cheiro felt the wisps of her magic pulling away from her attempting to absorb the anger. Kaimana was having a similar reaction as the runes on her body pulled away to form ribbons of new phrases. Furor’s magic was a bit more physical than her sisters so she didn’t feel it pulling like they did.

Pyrri, again, noticed the dark auras pushing against her calming one, but chose not to say anything. She directed them to the argue haedians; one group from the Brutes and the other from the Forgotten. They were arguing about their struggles and how each clan handled their position differently.

“Things will turn violent, or at least, they might damage the environment if their argument escalates.” Pyrri explains and gestured to the delicate looking flowers all around them.

Kaimana was the first to try. It wasn’t hard for her, she had just practiced calming when they were healing Haedians earlier. She stepped forward, counting the haedians. There were six. She thought that there were too many for her to calm all of them, but instead picked out the two they seemed to lead the argument. Cheiro watched her sister prepare and patiently waited. Furor stood on edge, feeling Kaimana’s method wouldn’t work out.

Furor stepped up behind Kaimana and waited in case she was needed. Kaimana felt the presence approach behind her, but did her best to ignore it. She focused on the two quarreling Haedians. The runes pulled away from her body spelling out calming phrases, they looked like glowing white ribbons that floated off Kaimana’s body. Shortly after some of the shouting had stopped. When Furor and Cheiro looked at the groups they could see the white ribbons of Kaimana’s power flickering above their heads like a halo.

Cheiro took this chance to explain to the group why she and her sisters were interfering. She asked them to consider listening to what the other was saying and to watch their volume; they were quite loud. The four other Haedians’ not affected by Kaimana twitched.

“Topsider, watch your tone.” One of the Brutes snarled as one of the Forgotten growled something similar. Both clans united in their distaste for Cheiro’s condescending tone, but simply speaking at the same time brought their animosity back towards each other.

Kaimana’s power snapped back to her and she slumped to the ground as a fight broke out between the two clans. Kaimana huffed and growled to Cheiro, “did you really need to go and say that?”

Cheiro shrugged her shoulders, but Furor was hard at work causing confusion in the fight. She couldn’t create solid barriers, but she surrounded each group with a dark cloud so they couldn’t see. The dark clouds snaked around each Haedian, until their shouting fell silent. She grunted at the toll it was taking on her and glared at her sisters.

“Help. Me.” She snarled at them.

Kaimana was quick to recast her spell from moments ago, but she pushed it a step further. She forced the two leaders of each group to sleep. When their bodies hit the ground Furor let her clouds fade from them, but focused on the other four.

Cheiro was the only one that hadn’t done much in the way of helping. She tried to use her words, but she knew of her sisters she was the strongest. However, she still hesitated. She was so used to using her magic to inflict pain she couldn’t imagine using it for anything else. Furor growled at Cheiro to snap her out of her thoughts.

“I’m going, I’m going.” Cheiro whispered roughly as she watched her shadows leap away from her and attach to the four Haedians. Cheiro focused her thoughts on how she felt when she first arrived here. She tried to emulate that same calming aura. At first she thought it wasn’t working, but a few moments later Furor released her clouds completely revealing all the Haedians. Cheiro was pleased to see the four haedians were sitting down in a calm daze.

The three sisters called back their magic and watched as Pyrri spoke to each group to further end any dispute they were having.

The Tranquil Clan: PROMPT 1  > OPTION 2

The Tranquil are masters of preventing conflict among clans. Many may use mentalist-like abilities to calm other Haedians out of trouble.
Draw or write your reosean stopping a conflict with their own magic. Maybe they can also use mentalist magic to calm the nerves of the Haedians. If you are an Elementalist maybe you put a wall between them. An Arcanist may prefer to distract them with fancy magic.
