Tranquil Clan: Sisters 1

Cheiro and Kaimana bickered endlessly, or at least that's how it appeared to Furor. They flew through the tunnels and caverns on the way to the next clan. Furor followed behind her elder sisters as they growled and snapped at each other for the smallest things. Cheiro got too close to Kaimana, or Cheiro was tired of hearing Kaimana complain, but it was always something.

With an aggravated sigh, Furor turned her attention to the changing environment. The brutes had a few plants, but the way they had been flying brought more plants. The tunnels grew rich with greenery and underground flora. Cheiro and Kaimana stopped their fighting as they too realized where they were. The environment around them was so calming.

The trio flew in silence for a few more moments taking in the peaceful atmosphere. When they reached a clearing they landed lightly. Here, in this clan, Kaimana’s pelt blended in and the dark colours of her sisters stood out for once. Her pride settled at the observation.

“Hello, new comers.” A calm voice approached them. The three sisters directed their attention to the white and pink Haedian walking towards them. She introduced herself with a light nod, “Pyrri.”

The sisters introduced themselves in return and found that any animosity they held for one another vanished in the aura of this Haedian. All three sisters felt their raging minds calm as they waited for Pyrri to continue.

Pyrri smiled, “If you’re willing, you can come and help us prepare aid for another clan.”

Given how these sisters felt their malicious ways quiet, they nodded, and followed the haedian to the area they’d be needed. When they arrived, Pyrri directed the empyrians to the ill and asked them to help heal.

“Uh,” Cheiro started to voice her concerns, “I- we don’t have any magic that will help heal.”

Kaimana cringed and nodded.

Furor whispered, “we deal in the opposite of all this.”

Pyrri didn’t miss a beat, there was no judgment, simply a further explanation, “You don’t need magic to help the injured.”

The haedian picked up some bottles of salve, and a few rolls of bandages. She brought them to an injured reosean and, with confident movements, began to demonstrate. It was straight forward; apply the salve and wrap the bandage. The sisters each tried and when Pyrri was satisfied they could manage on their own she left.

Cheiro noticed her exit and stiffened, afraid the malice in her head would come rushing back. It was clear Furor and Kaimana felt the same, but thankfully, their minds remained quiet. The atmosphere was calming them just as much as Pyrri’s aura had. With a collective sigh they went back to work.

Haedians passing by witnessed these three sisters fumble their way through the steps Pyrri showed them. A few haedians chuckled as they passed by and it truly was a comical scene. Three large empyrians awkwardly held things with their two claws. It reminded some haedians of young ones playing with sticks.

The sisters heard the laughter at their expense, but all that did was spur them on to try harder. Cheiro took some breaths and moved more slowly, carefully watching where her claws went. Her seraph wings helped her as she used her extra hands to stabilize anything she held. The reosean in her care watched her with a wary eye. They were only there for a cut on their leg and they felt they might leave worse off.

Furor also had an advantage because she had a prosthetic third finger. It wasn’t as helpful as the hands the haedians had, but it was a little helpful nonetheless. She balanced a container of salve in one hand and then with the other delicately applied some to a burn on the reosean in front of her.

Kaimana didn’t have the advantages her sisters had, but she found the magic she normally used to terrorize reoseans, could be used to calm them. While her sisters worked with more practical methods to help, she used her magic to keep incoming reoseans calm while they waited. She sat between the patients her sisters were working on and tried to calm them so they were less wary of Furor and Cheiro.

The three of them worked in a sort of assembly line type way. Kaimana would keep the reoseans calm, while Furor applied the salve and then Cheiro would cover the wound with bandages. They continued this way for a while, leaving anything truly serious to the healers of the Tranquil clan. It was unclear where all these reoseans were coming from, but the haedians around them told the sisters that haedians from many clans came to them for help.

After several injuries were tended to the sisters started to feel the effects of the atmosphere fading. Cheiro’s eye twitched, Kaimana rolled her shoulders, and Furor anxiously tapped her toenails. All clear signs that their chaotic desires were simmering just below the surface. They all looked at each other feeling the same thing and so they removed themselves from the healing space and went to look for Pyrri.
