Shattered Binding -A Prayer above

“So, you are telling me that this bull like god is the one who saved your species?” The red and teal runner tilted his head as the blue and orange haedian talked at length about Oris.

“Yup. The Matriarch called out to him in both worry and rage. Worry as we were separated from the world above ground, and anger because of the gods who did it.” Deirdre hummed as she held up one of the ornate golden statues of the god to show it off.

Wassail looked over the statue, he had a look of disbelief on his face. Shaking his head he looked at the haedian before him.

“It is still wild to think that he would just betrothed to her a way to keep you all sustained until you established yourself in the ecosystem…” He hummed as he put the statue down.

“Is it not like how Empyria betrothed to the Elder the ability to fly in the sky when they learned they were seperated from us in the under ground?” The blue and orange haedian tilted her head now in return, curiosity in her amber eyes.

Wassail went back in to thought for a moment, “You are correct… Yes… Perhaps we can ask other elders for their own input on to Oris and the plight of the haedians as a whole and maybe a prayer to help relax the Matriarch.”

“Let us go then! The Keepers will likely have the most knowledge, they always do.” Deirdre pulled Wassail along, him stumbling a bit before catching his footing and trotting behind her as she made her way through the cave system to the known libraries.

They were met with deep turquoise tapestries that were rimmed with golden threads. Wassail looked at them in awe, seeing the Matriarch embroidered on to the fabric along side the bull like god. His attention was pulled when Deirdre called out to him. The winged runner trotted over towards the blue and orange Haedian who had a couple of the Keepers elders, along with one of the Orders ones.

“Well, young ones, what could we help you with this evening.” The muted yellow Keeper elder smiled at the pair as Wassail approached.

“We were wondering if you could help us learn a prayer to Oris? We were talking about it earlier and my friend is still skeptical about him.” Deirdre sat wrapping her tail around her paws, flicking the feathers against Wassail's hind quarters as it passed by him.

“Yes, I am typically not religious, I do not discredit the gods, I just do not actively pray to them. So I am unfamiliar with any particular prayer practices.” The red and teal runner dipped his head in respect.

“Oh we would be honored to show you. Please come this way.” The blue ticked haedian elder smiled, their eyes crinkling around the edges as they did.

The trio of elders stood before leading the pair to a small altar like structure. Well, maybe it was an altar, but it wasn’t very big.

“We actually should change out the food and drink on the altar for him. It may not be a prayer, but changing out the offerings some times just as good.” The Order elder squinted at the altar taking note of what was on it.

“Is that so? Maybe Deirdre and I could go and fetch some new items to put on to the space before we clean it up so it is not left empty? As I am sure that it would be unappreciated to leave it empty for more than a few minutes.” The red and teal runner offered with a tilt of his wings.

“That would be ideal. Yes, please, we will just need some bread and a fresh cup of wine for the moment.” The yellow elder noted as well, “The rest of the food is still good for the moment.”

It was at that moment that the pair ran off towards the kitchen area. There they explained quickly that they were just to get some fresh bread and a glass of wine for the altar and the workers were more than happy to supply the pair with the necessary elements. With the cup of wine and bread in hand and paw the pair made their way carefully back to the altar, they met up again with the elders who made their way back with cleaning supplies and a sack of sand.

“The sand is to keep the old wine contained with out us having to drink an old offering. Let us clean before we replace any thing.” The Orders elder gruffed out as he started to carefully remove the statues and jewelry from their stands.

The winged runner helped to wipe down the statues while Deirdre took the time to check over the jewelry for any flaws that might have occurred. Time seemed to have passes as quick as ever, but soon, the pair was helping to reset the altar.

“As we reset the altar, remember to hold your intentions in the forefront of your mind as you do. That will send it as a message to our god.” The yellow elder spoke again.

“Of course.” The pair spoke in unison.
