Candy Queen sprinted as fast as she could along the spiraling tunnels of the underground domain of the haedians. Her heart pounded violently in her chest as she recalled her meeting with the matriarch. Seeing the absolutely massive haedian decaying away, trapped beneath the earth was absolutely horrifying to behold and the pain in the caregivers faces as they did everything in their power to help their beloved leader was heart wrenching. Moved to lend any assistance she possibly could Candy had started to brain storm ideas with the caregivers on what they could possibly do to help their beloved matriarch. After a lot of deliberating and hesitation the caregivers had suggested seeking outside aid in order to help ease the pain of their elder. That had been the moment when the rainbow vayron had remembered the entire reason why she had been in the underground in the first place, to gather information, interact with the clans, and to inform the Elder of anything they could possibly do to mend the relationship between the surface dwellers and the haedians. Excitement bubbled with her as she sprinted full speed back toward the narrow passageway that served as the main entrance for the surface dwellers to descend into the depths.

As Candy rushed toward the exit she passed many surface dwellers on their way to meet and mingle with the clans, each stranger she encountered she made sure to stop and inform them of the matriarch's situation. Hearing of the trapped haedians plight many of them immediately began to rally together, as Candy booked it to the newly carved steps and excavation crew that was steadily working on widening the entrance to the underground she could hear a growing hum of voices echoing across the cave walls as the reoseans of the surface coordinated and planned. When Candy finally managed to push her way out of the crowd and back up to the surface the blinding sunlight blistered her eyes, leaving her momentarily stunned as she blinked away the whirling blue spots and after images plaguing her. She didn't have any time to waste on her mild discomfort, she new the matriarch had been trapped for so long with no hope of escape, there was no way she would waste any time and prolong her suffering. The rainbow runner shot forth across the glittering landscape of Vitalus, the closest communication hub was a few miles away and she needed to call the Elder as soon as possible. Her long lithe legs pounded across the unnaturally colored grassy plains at break neck speed as Candy Queen ran as fast as she possibly could for the hub. The landscape around her blurred by in a barely comprehensible blur and yet despite how fast she was running it still felt as if she was taking an eternity to reach her destination.

As the vayron sprinted around a bend in the road she finally saw the bustling communication hub. An ornately decorated building with an open air concept loomed in the distance, large open windows and doorways lined its walls, allowing easy access for both those on foot and those who could fly. As Candy sprinted toward the hub she passed scores of vayrons and tyrians who had also just emerged from the underground and were delivering their reports to the Elder and scholars who were still in the capital. The reoseans mingling and using the hubs facilities exclaimed in shock and parted out of the way with barely a fraction of an inch to spare as Candy Queen came hurtling into the building wide eyed and gasping for breath. The runner sprinted to the reception desk, cutting the line of waiting patrons but no one stopped the obviously frantic vayron. All eyes, even the ones behind the screens of the communication devices and crystals, were turned to the brightly colored runner who had made such a dramatic entrance as she fought for breath in front of the receptionist. "Can I help you ma'am?" they questioned slightly alarmed and unsure of what to expect. Candy Queen finally managed to speak between deep gulps of air, her limbs trembling from the adrenaline, "I need to speak to the Elder immediately. I have met with the Matriarch." Hearing the runners declaration sent ripples of shock through the gathered reoseans, many were still mingling with the outer clans and had only just learned of the near mythical Matriarch of the haedians. Candy Queen placed her fore paws on the counter edge and pleaded with the receptionist. "Please! Connect me quickly! It's not good we need to help her!"

The receptionist fumbled slightly with their quill pen at the runners insistence before quickly turning the largest communication crystal toward the vayron. This crystal was the emergency line that connected directly to the Elders chamber in the capital. With a flick of its wrist the receptionist activated the dormant magic of the crystal and a rippling cascade of energy  spread across the surface of the crystal before clearing to reveal the Elder's majestic face. Before he could even ask what the situation was Candy Queen immediately dove into a report of her meeting with the Matriarch and the horrid state she was currently stuck in.
