The Sea calls
Tarok walked across the busy streets of Bullmar, the hustle and bustle of the streets felt weird in comparison to his home deep within the forest he called home, but strange needn't always be something bad- rather it felt alien, but he welcomed the experience. Each vendor that yelled out to him as he made his way toward the harbor got a polite smile back from the fluffy puller as they didnt intend to spend any krones before their big journey.
Framing the lush green colored puller was Akatora a striped crimson coated runner who walked with a quiet confidence and grace, each step fluid and deliberate which spoke for his confidence and raw strength. His steps were measured and quiet, even outside of the city in more rural parts of Warrenfall Tarok had struggled to hear Akatoras footfalls.
To his left walked a Vayron who had introduced herself as Fairy, her nature as whimsical as her name implied with childlike wonder always on her face, allowing her focus to wander on ample occassions she once again hadn't stopped herself from perusing the wares of the merchants, trading a handful of krones as she walked, speedbuying trinkets and baubles with her money as she kept pace with the other two Reoseans.
His gaze wandered longingly towards the alleys of Bullmar as they allowed him to catch a glimpse of the deep green forests that surrounded the city. The shades of verdant seemed so inviting and if a bigger destination wouldn't have been on the pullers mind then he might have been swayed to abandon his plans and return to the forests around Warrenfall. But no, he couldnt be sidetracked. He wanted to see Vitalus for himself and was supposed to be on a ferry that would bring him closer to his destination within the next half hour.
"Pondering something?" asked Akatora, his deep voice effortlessly cutting through the noise of the streets reaching Taroks ears. "Just sentimental about the forests around here. It will be a while until I step foot into one again." responded Tarok a sad smile on his face.
Fairys attention switched over to the group, stashing a simple looking bead necklace in the pouch that rested at her hip whilst another hand fiddled with her coin purse to put the spare change back into it, which proved to be difficult with walking on all fours and having one paw already preoccupied with the necklace.
"We'll be back sooner than you realise!" she offered, her voice carrying a contageous cheer with it. "Besides then you can say that youve seen Vitalus forests too and can then compare them." she smiled warmly at the puller, his heavy heart lightening at his friends words.
"You are right." his gaze travelled towards the harbor of Bullmar, his nostrils had already been picking up the briny scent of saltwater and fish, with the shrill and piercing squawks of seagulls slowly becoming more noticeable in the mix of street noises.
The trio wandered toward the harbor now finally observing the docked ships that gently swayed in the current. Wooden piers stretch out into the water, their surface worn smooth by years of lapping waves and booted footsteps. There were ships currently unloading their cargo, wooden boxes containing foreign spices, textiles and wine barrels as dockhands yelled out orders to one another to quickly unload their vessels. Life here was different than what he would normally see in the other parts of town, as it seemed the sailors were intent to take to the waters again as soon as possible.
A deep horn startled Tarok out of his observations, his eyes focusing on a ship that was leaving the harbor, his heart caught in his chest for a moment before realising this wasn't the vessel him and his friends were supposed to get on.
Still it was probably a good idea to head to the dock of the guilded wave, the name of their ship, where it was supposed to leave port from.
Fairy was currently buying dried fish at a stall on the docks, taking it gingerly from the hands of the salesperson before she started to snack on it.
Akatora looked out to the open sea and whilst his expression was stoic, the swaying of his tail behind him gave it away that he was excited for their journey and the destination.
"Let's go." he spoke a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Tarok once again glanced back over his shoulder, from here with the larger buildings that had been towering over him having made space for the open sea he had a clear view of the forests of Warrenfall once again. The vibrant green of the meadows seemed inviting and the little specs of white on it that moved if Tarok closely watched them put a smile on his face. The sheep were enjoying what he was leaving behind for now. Another moment that his gaze rested on the dirtpaths that him and his friends had walked together and met on brought back fond memories of their shared journey so far.
After finding the guilded wave, an inviting vessel painted black with white accents the three boarded it leaving solid ground behind them. Paws standing ontop of the deck, the gentle sway of the boat now noticeable and alien to all of the three Reoseans they all knew that this would take them some getting used to.
"I can't wait to leave port." spoke Fairy, currently aggressively chewing on a piece of dried makrel that seemed to be tougher than she had anticipated. Akatora smiled at Fairy and nodded.
"Yes- I cant wait to see what legends about Vitalus are actually true. Its remarkable to think that we can only recently travel to this continent. It still makes me wonder what else might be out there that we know nothing about."
Tarok shared his friends view on their journey. And once the ship finally left port, gently swaying as it braved the big blue and charted ahead he felt a sense of calm wash over him. He might not entirely know what Vitalus had to offer, but he knew he had two friends by his side that would ensure their journey would be a fun one.

Prompt chosen:
♦ Some Reoseans prefer to live their lives over the open water, pirate culture abundant throughout the Realm. Depict your Reosean either travelling across the ocean/sea, or just leaving port from their home continent. Your Reosean's home continent must still be apparent in your piece (glaciers in Roenden, sandy islands in Thedale, etc.).
