[Trade] Surface-dweller Treasure

"What is this." asked Asarb, a sharp undertone to his question hinting at the fact that he clearly wasn't amused with what was before him.

"This pretty boy is our contact, really? Subtelty is an art of those working in the dark." spat the darkcoated puller at the haedian who was watching his tantrum with a smile on his face, yet it was not a warm smile no, much like a predator getting ready to strike who hadn't yet bared their fangs.

Katholes quietly watched the display and glanced around the area to make sure nobody was eavesdropping. Part of what Asarb had said was true, the black and pink coated Haedian in front of them that was adorned with intricate expensive clothing and accessories didn't scream that they were someone working in the criminal underground. They had a sense for fashion that was true- especially with the way each element of the outfit complemented one another, drawing attention to their piercing white and red eyes.

"Enough." they commanded staring down at the puller in front of them in an effort to stop them from making a needless ruckus.

"Your idea of how an informant should look like is making you look stupid dear Asarb. After all a wolf that hides amongst a flock of sheep by pretending to be one is much smarter than those mongrels that run around in packs and openly display what they are wouldn't you agree." there was a certain something in his eyes as his smile widened to show off their teeth that read as a last warning to Katholes and Asarb. The latter knowing they had overstepped but was too stubborn to apologize just scoffed, shaking his head, he clearly still believed dressing oneself up like that wouldn't help with remaining anonymous, the fact that Nora might be so efficient at their job that they needn't hide their face not having crossed the pullers mind in the slightest.

"Now that that is done, I propose we turn to whats important yes?" asked Nora giving the Wagasa a spin that they had been holding in their hands.

Katholes nodded, having thoroughly scanned the perimeters he sat down in front of the Haedian to hear what he had to share with the two of them. Asarb followed but didnt sit down, staring at the Haedian whilst they spoke. It was clear to Katholes that something about the Haedian had irked the puller and that they were itching for a fight. To see what this 'pretty boy' knew of inflicting harm.

Katholes sighed internally, knowing this would very very likely complicate their plans if the two of them couldnt cooperate.

"The target is a Haedian named Syn who has been hoarding the trinkets outsiders have brought the Tranquil clan to show their good will. Some of these items are so rare down here they catch a good amount of Krones, regardless of how mundane or everyday these items might appear to surfacedweller such as yourself." a clawed hand was extended toward the two reoseans, adressing them. Even if some words seemed pointed, Noras expert control of tone of voice could even dull the most subtly laced insults into a fact others just simply accepted as they listened.

"Where do we find them?" asked Asarb, itching to go.

"I can lead you to the cave they call their home. By this time of day they tend to be at the market, purchasing fresh goods for their dinner. So we have a window of 30 minutes once we are there." Katholes added an important question "We were only told you had a job for us and that it involved thieving, but what is it actually that we are after?" Noras attention shifted to the crimson coated puller, lingering on him for a moment as they thought. The reality was he was after a fan one of the surfacedwellers had taken underground that would be perfect for another outfit he had already planning in his head. They had seen it, white and red with gold accents, gems inlaid upon the intricate patterns on the fan, it was perfect for them. He needed to have it. Yet he didn't want these two to know. They hadn't talked payment yet, so he was sure they'd try to raise the price of the commissioned heist up more if they knew that the item he was after was valuable even to surface dwellers.

"It might seem silly." started Nora, chuckling at themself to make the lie they were about to tell more believable. "I know a good chunk of the offerings included fruits from the topside. I have never had an apple native to the topside of Vitalus. I want to try it and have its to me unique flavor inspire my next outfit as i heard it has a certain tanginess to it that comes from wild magic infusing the fruit." the two vayrons did not question the Haedians request, rather it made sense for them that a Haedian would pursue surface goods after they had been in the below for who knows how long.

Katholes nodded and with Nora leading the way the three soon made it to the abode of Syn.

The cave was partially carved from rock the other from white marble with pieces that seemed to have broken off softly floating suspended in the air as if held there by an invisible force. Softly glowing mushrooms rimmed the facade and made for a beautiful display with the crystals that had started to grow around the mushrooms. Where the light of the mushrooms hit the crystals they cast a comforting glow. It looked inviting, homey even. The reosean who lived here had a hand for decoration that was for certain.

Nora despite the hot pink shining in the right light seemed to effortlessly blend into the background thanks to their swift and learned movements. Katholes knew this wasn't just merely someone who had offered a job to the two of them, no, this reosean too had their hands dirty and was skilled in the crafts needed to be successful as a deviant.

The trio slinked into Syns home, slowly and quietly one by one, making sure that they weren't watched nor seen.

The group quietly scanned their surroundings, finding a mountain of pillows within the haedians cave, low hanging lights in the form of glowing crystals caused a low light environment and cast everything in a soft orange glow. An empty cup which must have at one point contained tea rested on a table, a collection of goods spread out across its surface next to it. They had been sorting through the offerings the surface dwellers had made.

Nora moved to examine the items on the table, yet he didn't spot the fan he was after, his face momentarily displayed his displpeasure at locating this fan not being an easy task.

"Syn must have hidden the apples." whispered Katholes to which Asarb simply smiled at Nora, the puller still seemed eager to start a fight with the Haedian but was currently restraining himself to not jeopardize the job.

Noras ears flicked back to Katholes, words registering though his response came delayed as their focus lay on locating the object they had come here for.

"Search through this pile of items on the table. I'll look in the back." they spoke, quietly leaving the two pullers to their task whilst they carried on further into the home.

In their mind they had decided to check out the bedroom of Syn, hoping that this is where she placed some of her more cherished belongings that she had gotten from those happily offering them to her.

The Haedians intuition turned out correct yet when they wanted to grab the fan with a clawed hand Asarbs voice reached their ears who had snuck up on them to observe what they were doing.

"I'm unsure if this is where Syn would keep apples." noted the puller playing dumb. Nora quickly made the fan vanish in the long sleeves of his outfit with a learned flick of the wrist. They played it off natural, though they were uncertain if Asarb had noticed the motion or how much he had seen.

"I thought it didn't hurt to look and rule this place out regardless." responded the white and black blotched haedian with a smile, trying to get a read on Asarb.

This is when Katholes came into the backroom too, holding two apples triumphantly, intent to collect the two as they considered their mission completed.

"It seems we got what we wanted." said Asarb, allowing Nora to relax as the puller didnt comment on the expensive fan they had pocketed.

The trio made sure to sneak out of the home again, Asarb having used a moment where prying eyes had been off him and on Katholes and his find to quickly swipe an expensive looking dagger that had been placed on the table containing a bunch of offerings.
