[Trade] Destructive Melody
"Drat!" said Sola, a worried glance shot over his shoulder toward his travelling buddy Asher. Glancing back at him were those piercing, inquisitive eyes of Ashers with his face currently having an "i-told-you-so" smirk on it.
"Oh please don't say it." spoke the yellow and pink coated runner, rolling his eyes in anticipated annoyance at Ashers next words.
"To think I could so easily be seen through." he feigned being surprised. "I would tell you I told you so, but I think we both know that I dont need to." responded Asher with his typical level of sass, his grin broadening.
Sola would have normally laughed at Ashers attempt at comedy if worry was not at the forefront of his mind.
"The sky is getting darker, and these winds-" another heavy gust rocked over Vitalus and nature bent to its will.
An earthshattering crack could be heard before the snapping of twigs and groans of wood created an earpiercing cacophony. Ashers eyes went wide as he saw one of the tall trees fall over, with the two friends right in its path of destruction. It would hit them. It was too quick. As that Realisation set in for the both of them time turned into what felt like a crawl.
The words 'Careful!' Almost didnt register in either of the reoseans minds before they felt themself tackled by something swift and fast. A flash of purple and white. Disoriented Sola shook his head as he felt his paws loosing touch with solid ground and glanced down in confusion as he felt himself hoisted up into the air hastily. Glancing to his right he saw Asher in this creatures other paw securely held.
Then his mind caught up with him. A tyrian had saved them.
Glancing up at the tyrian who was currently in flight trying to land at a safe location before another destructive gust of wind had the chance to catch them and toss them around like a leaf in a breeze Sola found a violet and white coated Tyrian, their white eyes emitting a soft glow. their expression mirrored that softness.
Even the usually sharpwitted Asher glanced around in utter perplexion as his brain hurried to make sense of what was transpiring.
"Who are you?" Asked Sola inquisitively. They knew that the tyrian meant no harm, after all if they had then why go through the trouble of saving them. „Stop asking our miraculous savior such ridiculous questions.“ spoke Asher, the typical smirk having returned to his face.
Sola chuckled at the other runners remark, glancing down he elected to watch the landscape go by as the tyrian hadn‘t responded. If the skies hadn‘t been as overcast as they were then Sola was sure all the crystals he was able to spot down below would have made for a beautiful spectacle when the sunlight refracted in them. Yet even so the soft glow of some crystals and some strange plants was noticable from up high too. Vitalus from above was as much a sight to behold as it was on ground. The tyrian swooped down and landed in a meadow where they gently placed the two vayrons down before stopping on solid ground too to check the two Reoseans over.
„You are not hurt are you?“ spoke the tyrian, their voice alone was enough to coax someone into feeling safe.
Asher shook his head and stepped forward. „No, thanks to you no less. I‘m Asher.“ they spoke bowing down in front of the Tyrian, a part of their act no doubt, But the tyrian did not know that, yet Sola had spent enough time around Asher to be able to somewhat guess when he was being genuine and when he was just trying to get on someones good side.
„I‘m Sola. I can‘t express enough how much I need to thank you for doing what you did. Without you we‘d both surely been hit by that falling tree.
The tyrian nodded, though their mind wasn‘t entirely on them. WIth their claws dug into the ground they took the full brunt of another violent gust which would have knocked them over if they hadn‘t anticipated it.
„Denarius.“ they said the moment the strong wind allowed for their voice to be heard. „Let‘s seek shelter.“ their curtness with words wasn‘t to be taken as offensive and the two vayrons knew it. Survival was at the forefront of Denarius mind, and it should be on theirs too.
Asher pointed with his head toward the tyrian that was already making their way across the meadow and over to a half-cresent shaped alcove that looked like it had been carved into a big boulder by hand. Shelter at last.
The two Reoseans hurried after Denarius, struggling with the winds whipping around them. At one point Asher was lightly picked up by a gust, whereas it had pushed Sola to the ground. The storm almost flet sentient with the way it tormented the two vayrons, yet the storm did not possess any sentience, rather the fact that Denarius seemed to be unphased by these strong winds stemmed from the fact that this wasn‘t their first rodeo with a storm like this. They knew how to walk, how to hold their body, how to fold their wings to help them stand against the storm. Doing so however was exhausting, hence why they had asked them to seek shelter.
The moment that the Reoseans stepped foot into the alcove is when strangely enough the noises of the storm made way to a calming melody.
„Welcome to Silverbell Cresendo.“ spoke Denarius, waving to the two vayrons to step further in, the other two complied without question.
Asher glanced up to where the rock walls reached highest and found deliberate patterns carved into the stone that transformed the raging strom into a beautiful orchestra. „How come I never heard of this place.“ asked Asher who delighted in collecting and selling information normally, so it happened rarely that a location eluded his watchful gaze and perked ears.
„Its not a place thats all to familiar with the general populus. And seeing as the melody only plays during a storm with destructive powers, those that know of this place don‘t speak of it so that no overconfident adventurers venture to this place during a storm and get hurt. Its a safehaven, shared with others who can then share it when they find someone in need of shelter during a storm.“ the words of Denarius made sense prompting neither of the two to ask more questions.
„Thank you.“ spoke Sola once again before the group fell quiet and just enjoyed the melody crafted for them by Silverbell Cresendo as the storm outside raged on.
