[Crafting] Hunter's Ale

A soft breeze was running through the hills that day and the sun was warming Mordred back as he walked though the snowy fields. The weather was warming up but the wide countrysides of Roenden where still full of white powdery snow.
The runner had agreed to a meeting that day with an other vayron, both having interest in working together. The name was Soot and he was somewhat soothing to Mordred. The sacratic little runner found some kind of peace in the puller's calm despite feeling kinda nervous at the unfamiliar sensation.
They had met in town a few day ago at an alchemy shop. Both of them were looking for a particular recipe but the alchemy shop could only provide one. As Mordred was about to leave the shop, Soot had offered to share the recipe and ingredients to try and learn it together.
After a long sigh and a hard reflexion Mordred had made the unlikely decision to agree to work together.

It took him almost to hours to get there and when Mordred arrived at the atelier Soot was already there, tidying up the place, checking out the materials. A roll of paper was laying on one of the counters.
"I brought you the claws you asked for ..." Muffled Mordred as an introduction as he pushed the door open.
Unfazed to the small vayron's rudness, Soot replied with a smile "Perfect, thank you friend". "Friend" the word screeched in Mordred's ears. *What makes you think we're friends. I don't have any friends. We barely know each other. I'm by myself, I can make it alone you big-*
"Shall we get to work?" Soot broke Mordred out of his spiralling thougts *how does he always does that...*
The dark puller pointed at a table with a subtle head movement, encouraging the little runner to join him. Sitting by his side Mordred realised their size difference *I'm not that big am I? How can such a big guy be so quiet and calm*
They spread the rolled paper and the few ingredients across the table and Mordred started reading the recipe out loud.
"Squeeze the dragon's tongue and gather the juice in a bowl..." *sigh* Mordred turned to Soot with a frown. "I'll let you do that if you don't mind... Brut force is not really my forte as you can imagine." Opening his small paw next to the puller's.
- No problem friend" *this again...* " Can you chop the grass in the meantime?"
Mordred nodded "can do" and they both got to work.

It took Soot a bit more effort than he would have thought to extract the juice from the pepper-like vegetable. The skin was hard and the flesh hardly juicy at all. After a good twenty minutes and his best efforts, the bowl was finally filled with a red translucent liquid.
Meanwhile Mordred had chopped the herbs thinly, and started to reduce the claws into a thin powder.
As Soot politely waited for Mordred to finish his tasks, he went outside to get some wood for the fire. The ingredients would need to be boiled for a while and the logs he had stored inside earlier seemed to run out faster than expected.
After a few in and out to fill out the log basket, Soot found Mordred staring at him, sitting in front of the table.
"I'm done now, shall we?" He asked.
They quickly started a fire and put the Dragon's Tongue juice to boil. "It says..warm up until it bubbles. Yeah that's boiling. Then we'll need to add the herbs" he explained.
The juice started to boil after a few minutes and as they added the chopped herbs to the liquid. It slowly started to turn yellow then as they took the pot out of the fire, the mixture went back to a an orange, almost red color.
"Pretty..." whispered Mordred.
"Isn't it! Seems llike we're doing good so far. The color is the same as mentionned in the recipe. All we've got left to do is adding the claws powder... and it should turn... gold? I'm not sure, the page is scratched. Let's put it back on the fire."
As they put the pot on the hot embers and added the claw dust, the red liquid started to sparkle. As if the claws powder had turn into gold.
"GOLD!" They both exclaimed. "It's the dust!
Wonderful!"
Overjoyed at the idea of their potential success they both burst into laugh, obliivious to the night falling around them.
"We made it! I think.. Quick, let's put it in this vial, we need to cool it down fast or it will lose its properties" Morded said, enthousiastic.
They carefully poured the liquid into a nice vial Soot had purchased from the alchemy shop and went outside to stick said vial into the snow to cool it down.
"Sorry for earlier I got too excited.." the cold had put Mordred's mind back into its original stiffness and he felt suddenly silly at his previous display of joy.
"Nothing to bee sorry about, that really was exciting after all." Said Soot calmly, a gentle smile shining on his face. "Let's leave it to cool down for a bit and head home. We'll meet at the alchemist shop tomorrow to get this potion evaluated. Hopefully our efforts have paid. Alright friend?"
This time Mordred didn't feel that weird hearing it.
Tomorrow would be a good day.
